Lost Maples State Natural Area
You may know Lost Maples for its fall color, but it is spectacular year-round. Visit any time to see abundant wildflowers, steep canyon walls and the scenic Sabinal River. We’re just two hours northwest of San Antonio. Your whole family will find plenty to do here. Take a hike or a photo, go fishing, look for birds and other wildlife, camp, backpack, stargaze and hunt for geocaches. Lost Maples protects a special stand of Uvalde bigtooth maples. Frio Bat Flight
For a once in a lifetime experience you will want to come to the Frio Bat Flight Tour and witness this awesome site as 10 to 12 million Mexican Free-tailed Bats ascend into the evening sky before sunset at Frio Cave near Concan, Texas. This is the second largest bat population in the world open to the public! Also at the bat viewing area you will possibly see Cave Swallow, Rock and Canyon Wren, and you might even see a ringed-tail cat or skunk entering the cave to catch dinner. Be amazed as several species of raptor dive into the exiting swirl of bats.

Garner State Park
Garner State Park is a great place to visit for a swim or hike, or to enjoy a relaxing weekend. With 2.9 miles of Frio River winding through 1,774 acres of scenic Hill Country terrain, the park offers lots to see and do! Swim in the Frio River or float its waters on an inner tube, operate a paddle boat, and hike 16 miles of scenic trails. Trash Rack Outfitters (TRO) is a family run ranch and is located 40 miles north of Del Rio, Texas (home of beautiful Lake Amistad) on highway 277 or approximately 50 miles south of Sonora on highway 277. Our terrain ranges from mesquite and cedar flats with an abundance of oak to steep bluffs with sage, pinion pine and cedar. The flats have Texas White Tail Deer, Turkey and Hogs. The hillsides and bluffs also have the Deer, Turkey and Hogs as well as the exotic species including large herds of Aoudad. We have some of the largest Free Range Axis Deer and Black Buck Antelope in Texas. We also offer limited high fence hunts as well.
